The 45-kilometre Inca Trail in Peru is described as a hike within the abilities of most reasonably fit people. Each day consists of approximately seven hours of walking. The highest point — Dead Women's Pass, is 4,200 metres above sea level. I am pleased to report that the four-day hike was easier than I had anticipated and is one of the most incredible hikes I've ever experienced.
